This piece is made from polymer clay. While it is durable, it can still break if handled roughly. To ensure its longevity, avoid excessive bending and twisting of the piece. It's also best to remove your Moko Kauae piece before sleeping, swimming, showering or any activities that expose it to water, chemicals (soap/shampoo) or physical stress.
